Drilling Program
UPDATE ON 'GAP ZONE' TARGETED DIAMOND DRILLING - Q1 & Q2 2008
GAP ZONE DRILLING UPDATE - JULY 2008 (0.69 Mb)
Drilling continues at 2 locations at the south (near 9L plat) and northern area in the drives of the 9L of the
Morning Star Mine ~278m U/G. The MCO owned and operated Kempe diamond drilling rigs are targeting
multiple reef zones in a resource drill-out over (up to) 20m intervals.
Down-dip drilling into the Gap Zone has also commenced - See the recent Quarterly Report for period ending 31 March 2008
for the latest and also the Drilling Progress Report released to ASX on 17th March 2008 for latest drilling reviews.
Holes MS399-MS452 have all been completed to date. Many of the
recent holes are awaiting sampling & assays. A series of
three (3) drill-holes have also been drilled from the 10L near the plat of that
level. Blasting was recently done to enlarge the cuddy at the north of
the 9L to enable further resource drill-out and the drilling of a downward radial fan, the planning of which is shown in this PDF:

The completed radial up-drilling fan at 9L(north) is depicted here:

Diamond Drilling programs at the Woods Point Gold Project are progressing with two major areas in focus initially, with a 3rd area planned to commence in Q1 2008.
1. The 'Gap Zone' within the Morning Star mine, where a series of short fan drilled 'BQ' diamond drill holes from the 9L (~270m underground), will initially probe an area partially developed but never mined by WMC. This area is known as the 7 Sub-Level and WMC grab samples have run between 2-4ozs to the ton historically. Morning Star estimates after recent Channel Sampling and observing historical drill intersections and sampling data in our 3D model, that the area is a highly prospective economic ore target. The initial drill holes will concentrate on area of the 7 Sub-Level comprising dyke and quartz reef with the approximate dimensions of 200 metres X 60 metres (open along strike). The underground resource definition program is planned to drill at least 3,400 metres initially.
Two air driven 'Kempe' rigs with a drill capacity up to 250m are operational. The Kempes are operating from Drill Cuddies approximately 300m apart along the 9L drive - one 50m from the northernmost 9L drive extension and one closer to the 9L plat and main shaft. A typical program of fan-drilling will increase the knowledge into the Gap Zone enormously. Down-dip holes commence in Q1 2008.
The PDF diagram herewith depicts the Q4 2007 Diamond Drill holes in the Gap Zone from 9L North with an extension of the rich (unmined) 7 Sub-Level as a primary target. The diagram depicts in scale the elevation & length of drill-holes MS399-MS404, quartz intersection widths, dyke & sediment intercepts.

2. 'Morning Star South' is a dyke recently discovered to outcrop just beyond the southernmost workings of the Morning Star mine. A surface 'HQ' diamond drilling program of 7 holes was completed in Q4 2007. All seven holes (MS366,367,368,369,370, 371 & 371A) intersected dyke and zones of shearing, veining and brecciation have been observed between 70 metres and 152 metres below surface. It is considered that the dyke is more akin to the Comet Dyke in structure and geology and this was reported on in the Dec 2007 Exploration Report.
3. Regional Exploration Program commencing with permitting taking place early in Q1 2008 for exploration diamond drilling on the Waverly and Tingha Dykes and a review of targets at the All Nations Mine near Matlock. The Waverly Dyke has known shallow workings for up to 6kms along outcropping dyke occurrences which whilst not wide at surface (~2-5m), will be tested at depths below shallow workings (below 20m) for continuation of quartz reef and mineralisation. The Waverly dyke system yielded around 40,000ozs of high grade gold earlier than 1912.
